Transport

Moscow's transport network is one of the most developed in the world. To help citizens and tourists - signs, signs, maps, information stands – all this is done for maximum convenient, comfortable movement.


Transport cards

In order to make it more profitable to move around the city, we recommend that you purchase special cards and travel cards: "Troika", "TAT", "Single ticket", "90 minutes".

Metro

The most popular mode of transport is due to its high–speed "test-free" mode. It works from 5:30 to 1:30. Movement intervals are 1.5–2 minutes. The metro consists of 14 lines with 250 stations.

The Moscow metro is more than just a means of transportation, it is one of the most interesting sights of the city. Once at one of the stations, pay attention to the walls and ceilings - they have extremely beautiful patterns and mosaics.


Buses

The second most convenient mode of transport after the metro. Muscovites often use buses to get to the metro or from the metro – it's convenient and fast. In other words, you can always get to any point far from the metro by bus. Opening hours: from 5:30 to 1:00.


Trolleybuses and trams

Along with buses, the same convenient mode of transportation. They start walking in the morning (from 5:30) and finish working at one o'clock in the morning.


Taxi

The most comfortable mode of transport. Taxis often stand near the metro, so you don't even have to order them. Of course, no one canceled the taxi order, especially since there are a lot of companies providing taxi services in Moscow today (about 60 thousand). The best of them are: "Uber" and "Yandex.Taxi".


Airports

Moscow airports are the docking points of many air routes, both domestic and international flights.


Domodedovo international airport (DME)

It is located 45 kilometers southeast of the center of Moscow. It is one of the 20 busiest airports in Europe. It serves both domestic and international flights. Departures to 221 destinations are carried out every day. 71 airlines cooperate with the airport, of which 31 are foreign, 26 are Russian and 14 are from CIS countries. There are numerous shops, cafes, bars, restaurants on its territory. It offers a free mother and child room, VIP lounge, luggage storage, Aerotel Hotel. Fans of air travel can visit the airport museum.

Sheremetyevo international airport (SVO)

The largest in Russia, one of the best airports in Europe. It mainly serves international flights. Its routes number about 300 destinations. The airport consists of five terminals: A,B,C,D,F, through which more than 35 million passengers pass annually. Communication between the terminals is carried out using free buses (if you have a passport and a printed ticket). Of course, there are all kinds of rest rooms, a mother and child room, storage rooms, etc. There are a large number of shops, restaurants, banks, a post office, showers, a manicure studio and much more on the territory of the airport. There are many hotels located near the airport.

Vnukovo international airport (VKO)

A large airport located 28 kilometers from the capital. Routes run in 170 directions pass through it. It serves both domestic and international flights – countries of Europe, Africa and Asia. The airport has three terminals: A, B and D. At your service at the airport there are many shops, cafes and restaurants, rest rooms, VIP lounge, luggage storage. Near the airport there is a hotel complex located in a picturesque park area.

Zhukovsky international airport (ZIA)

The airport is located 36 km from the center of Moscow. Located on the territory of the city of Zhukovsky, 3 km southwest of the railway platform "42 km" Zhukovsky Airport consists of one terminal from which regional and international flights are operated. The nearest railway station to Zhukovsky Airport is the Rest station, which can be reached by special buses that run every 30 minutes, or by minibus №6 or №2.

The high-speed electric train "Sputnik" runs on weekdays from 7:00 to 23:00 to the Kazan railway station with two stops. Travel time – 37 min.
